'Uplake' recently enjoyed being on view at the Robert Graves Gallery Members Show. It's best seen 'live'. Schedule a viewing ([email protected]). It is a striking painting featuring clouds over Stehenkin. Stehenkin is the small mountain town at the end of the 52 mile, Lake Chelan. The clouds seem to press down like a cap over the mountains.

Uplake view, Chelan WA
Sitting in the middle of the lake and looking up towards Stehekin is a view that continues to take my breath away. As my oars exit the water, and I turn to check my path- this view captures my senses. The narrow lake leads the eye towards the mountains which are some 40 miles up lake. Lake Chelan is a recreational mecca. Who knows of the adventures that could be found up there; fishing, hiking, boating? This day, the water was flat as glass and the sky so very blue- The white clouds push down from above. I often check this vantage point for a repeat, it's always good, but this day was exceptional.
Darkening the mountain range allows the clouds to 'pop'
