Baskets and Lamp Posts is the theme of this colorful series. The series began with ‘Downtown Yellow’. This painting was done in 10 hours for a plein air contest, organized by Two Rivers Gallery, Wenatchee, WA.

Wenatchee’s streets are lined with these charming lamp posts and include bountiful hanging flower baskets. The idea was born to complete a series of paintings that include these lamp posts and baskets.

Painting plein air while engaging with townfolk was an unexpected benefit. It can feel intimidating to paint in front of people. Thank you all, you were positive and supportive. Enjoy this series of colorful and lively local street scenes.
